Highlights this week: Acclaimed comic writer Peter David celebrates the 10th Anniversary of his original paperback series of novels Star Trek New Frontier by bringing them to comics with an all new series stories by IDW Publishing. David continues the writing chores and art is by Stephen Thompson. The prologue to next week’s Secret Invasion crossover continues in Ms. Marvel #25. The chronically late, but well worth the wait All Star Superman #10 finally ships. The last collection Jack Kirby’s Fourth World Omnibus Vol 4 hardcover ships.

New #1 issues this week include Comic Book Comics #1, from the crew that brought us Action Philosophers! and Serenity Better Days #1 (of 3) If you’re looking for something a little more super-hero-centric, Last Defenders #1 might be for you, especially if you’re wondering why Colossus is hanging out with a non-X-team! While reading your comics, consider drinking (carefully) from the Marvel Bronze Age Toon Tumblers! If you’re looking for something a little more Golden-Age inspired, you should check out the Hawkman figure from DC Reactivated Series 4!

The first teaser trailer for hotly anticipated summer superhero epic “THE INCREDIBLE HULK” will have its exclusive broadcast debut in a simultaneous “roadblock” on seven networks on Wednesday, March 12. This first opportunity to see material from the motion picture will be aired at approximately 8:56 p.m. Central Standard Time on MTV, MTVU, MTV2, VH1, Spike TV , Nick at Nite and CMT.

This week the big release is the new Stephen King mini-series Dark Tower The Long Road Home, and if you haven’t seen our many references, we’re joining Marvel and other retailers in releasing the first issue at Midnight this Tuesday, March 4. So tell everyone you know to show up! Also this week, Marvel gives Cable his own series again in conjunction with the Divided We Stand crossover. DC spotlights a Teen Titan in DC Special Raven #1 (of 5) and takes advantage of the recent release of the Justice League New Frontier DVD with their release of the Justice League New Frontier Special with new art and story by Darwyn Cooke. David Lapham (Stray Bullets) returns to comics with his Young Liars series and Terry (Strangers in Paradise) Moore’s new Echo series begins.

Echo #1 will be in stores March 5th, and we plan to start taking preorders for this title in January 2008.
